1996 GT Avalanche on FB Marketplace - Had to save it!

It is, kind of. It's because we're down under that the headset must reflect that. And in reality, we're not actually "down under". The maps have been drawn upside down for centuries because the early explorers were from what is now Europe. Makes sense when you look at it the right way, all...

1996 GT Avalanche on FB Marketplace - Had to save it!

Lol, that's the one! I remembered you grabbed the bike, handed it to the girls, and without a word from anyone, the girls and the photographer knew what to do. It was the wallpaper on my PC at work back when I was in government. Got told to change it by Human Resources and I asked "don't like...

Justin Fox in da house! Long time my man, last time I saw you was at the garage at Leichhardt. Still have a picture of the models draped over my Merckx in front of some kitted out Lexus. Good to see you still tinkering with bikes and still a weapon behind the camera lens. Hope all's well for...

Achieving a 'mirror' finish on an Aluminium Frame

Remember the rule: You never finish polishing... ...you just get bored and decide to stop.

    What do you keep?

We all have a role in the world. Contributing to a lower benchmark is mine.

Rare? Perhaps. Collectable? Maybe. Fair Price? Er....

"...but it's two nice an example to use..." *too Moron.

    What do you keep?

My music collection is alphabetised by artist, and then in chronological order of release for each artist. If an artist released two albums on the one day, then the bar code tells me what goes first. When you have 2000 CDs and 1000 vinyl albums, it pays to have them organised. I never throw...

Oi, don't take that tone around here!

Frame id needed.. painted over Titanium? Team USA. Nice!

Yeah, I don't trust any of those titanium builders. Like, 3/2.5 tubes, but 6/4 dropout plates. What the hell is going on there!? MIXED GRADES! Sorcery I tells ya! If they're up to those kind of shenanigans, I wouldn't put it past them to slip in some Hi-Ten for the seatstays. Anyway, I'm...

Ahhh, so that's why velodromes are ridden anticlockwise!

I thought I was tough running 44:16 on my Redline BMX as a kid - this guy is running... what... 76:6? As for the thing in the original post - are they measuring the reach in feet? Yikes.

    Those rust holes...

If that was mine and it was something I wanted to put back on the road and make it safe and give it more life, I would: Strip the paint and carry out a visual assessment of the type of rust and the extent of the rust. Anything surface can be treated and neutralised. Anything more serious...

Frame id needed.. painted over Titanium? Team USA. Nice!

Well given a lot of examples talked about in retrobike circles aren't pieces of crap bike shaped objects sold in department stores, we'd all be keen to hear examples of those brands taking serious liberties taken when describing the purity of materials. Given how many people here lust over...

    The ugliest Marin alive

Yikes, that's getting into Klein Manta territory. Still, it's pretty good value when you consider it comes with a pair of IRC Mythos and a gel seat cover. Still has room for more accessories.

I don't want to argue with you, because it would be unfair, but construction is actually a science and not magic or sorcery. And I'm a fan of mixed metal. LA Glam, Scandinavian death metal, thrash, NWOBHM... all part of life's rich tapestry.
