Would like top quality set of wheels (rims, hubs & spokes please) to fit my 1988 Saracen Tufftrax. Originals died a while back and cheapo replacements not going to be up to the job long term.
Ideally, I would like wheels fitted with a 6-speed cassette/freewheel but will accept 7 speed...
Specialized Crossroads - still make modern version too. Were standard fitting on my 1987 Saracen Tufftrax and a great compromsie between on and off road provided you don't get too muddy!
Must be in good original condition. Would prefer a 1987/88 model with rear U-brake but may be hard to find in good condition now.
Size - 20" (I am 5'10").
Hi,
Anyone got an old Carradice Super-C Handlebar Bag mounting frame (wraps around stem and cradles bag)?
Still got the bag but no bracket/frame!
Tried Carradice but they have changed mounting on newer models and they tell me it is not compatible with my older bag!
Any help...
Sorry, not really after parts thanks. Too many bits already and trying to cut down (the only wheels I'd really be interested in would be an original set of Rigida's for my other (1987) Tufftrax.
Thanks.
27" from centre of bottom bracket to top of saddle as shown (saddle can be raised and lowered of course).
21.5" from centre of bottom bracket to top of seat tube (20" centre of bottom bracket to centre of top tube).
Hope this helps.
Recently restored (new powder coat and some new parts) but not getting any use due to number of other bikes I have!
Therefore decided to advertise for sale to see if anyone interested in this lovely piece of history before storing in my loft (what a waste)!
Looking for £120 (plus £25 if...
Thanks for comments guys!
Common sense has prevailed and I've decided to keep her after all. Sold my Orange P7 instead to partly fund purchase of my new tourer so no longer have "garage space" issues!
Just wish I could find a set of good quality original wheels and hubs for the Tufftrax to...
1. Chainring 44-32-22 / Cassette 8-speed (9-28 sound right? - didn't build it, I just ride it)!
2. Yes and I have a nearly new set which should fit
3. I assume so (again, I didn't build it, just ride it)!
4. Pass - standard Orange fit. No discernable wear
5. Minimal wear to all parts...
Sorry Matt. Original wheels beyond repair and chucked. Been trying to find original replacements for some time but gave up and bought a cheap set just to ride! Somebody must have a set but I'm afraid I haven't got the patience to carry on!
