Hey guys!
My Girlfriend’s brother is off to university and wants a bike for getting around town to study, back from parties and the other things students get up to.
Rigid 90’s MTB seems the way to go in terms of surviving the means streets.
Nothing flashy needed and £100 budget to suit a 5’8”...
Love it! And jump bikes should be teeny tiny ( in my opinion 😂😂)
My partner is planning a slopestyle esque build in the far future of her XS Kona Lisa 120 FS frame .. she has no idea how she used to ride a bike so smol now she’s on modern bikes 🤭
Oh amazing! Another dirt jumper :)
The Kona 2003 Roast i remember lusting after 😂
I do believe @arseface (the guy with the original recent 2003 stuff thread) has an excelSpreadsheet for working out equivalent ratios of different crank lengths, wheel sizes and chain rings if needed :)
Oh this is gonna be one tight build! Are you going gears or single?
Gotta love a 00’s Stuff! I built mine and sprained my ankle so can’t ride it for a bit 🙈
Just clearing some older parts no longer needed from my MTrax Build. These parts are the originals from that bike (mid 1990’s Raleigh MTrax, unknown year)
Titanium flat bar
56cm width
1” clamp
Tiny tiny weeny rise/back sweep if you squint hard enough
Seems fairly clean with no dents I can...
Update (delayed as had chores to attend to):
Now with SLX cranks fitted, a set of the most awful fork reliability wise I’ve ever encountered (Rockshox Dart 1)
Plus side I had some period Official Kona downhill/freeride parts. Primo DH 50mm stems and matching DH primo bars :D
So some of you may have seen arseface’s (whom I shall call AF here on in 🤔) superb post about his 2003 Kona Stuff jump bike… well I just finished mine!!
I bought the bike new back in 2003 same as AF and we actually used to go riding together. On his post you can see this very bike in it’s old...
