Old Skool Adverts--- Got a Favorite, Post it.

The BMX connection is interesting. Charlie Kelly in his book Fat Tire Flyer said that while it wasn't a direct influence on their work, I think it had to be in other areas as "mountain bikes" took off. Some BMX companies saw it coming and made the pivot, most others didn't. Personally, in...

    Question for Kona experts.

I uploaded a Kona Technical Information pamphlet into the scans section a few weeks back. Might have some of the info you're looking for. HTH.

Rock Shox Judy - Parts Identification

Maybe, the fate of the shock bone is TBD, and I would need an OEM v-brake arch. FYI - stateside.

Rock Shox Judy - Parts Identification

I think that's it. Any ideas on the springs, wondering if the red anodized spacer at the bottom is a clue?

Rock Shox Judy - Parts Identification

I hadn't thought that it could be OEM, all the Judy's I worked on BITD had the plastic cartridge. The bottom seal weeps a little fluid with each stroke, so it needs to be serviced or replaced.

Rock Shox Judy - Parts Identification

This fork came with the Bontrager I picked up a while back, but have been eyeing it for my Hei Hei. I haven't tore down a Judy in decades, but it went well, and surprisingly it's in really good shape. It has been modified, coil springs and aftermarket dampener, no markings on either. Anyone...

I didn't see the Bullseye cranks in any of the previous posts, pulleys yes, cranks no. I had these on a Cannondale as I kept tweaking the non-forged Shimano offerings at the time. Coming from a BMX background I guess I jumped the poor bike a bit much. The biggest issue was the BB...

    Long Lost Kona Hot

Not mine to share. That said from my original post it's an early 90's Hot guaranteed. I sold just the frame to the current owner who built it up as it is now. When I had it, sadly no detailed pics, it was mostly 1st gen XTR M900.

    Long Lost Kona Hot

In my experience you won't find that kind of imagery or ideology in the cycling community. ;)

    Long Lost Kona Hot

As stated above he did give me a number, kind of higher than it might be worth considering condition. The frame has lived a typical MTB life and would need restoration. Rust spots, a dent in the top tube, and the seat post is frozen.

    Long Lost Kona Hot

Recently while chatting with a former co-worker from a few decades back I asked whatever happened to that Hot I sold you. Now I thought it had been sold, stolen, whatever, but to my surprise he still had it hanging in a shed. I purchased this frame, a Teesdale made with Tange Prestige and the...
