MacFatro - Fatbike news and builds thread

Still ride mine but the full bounce has been use the most recently. I'm about to re-build the Xizang though as most my mates now ride gravel or e-bikes and I'm struggling to keep up.

That last one was a bit much and completely unplanned, we've taken lock down pretty strictly so it was just good to see old faces and it is easier to chat sitting at a table face to face/pint. My youngest has suddenly got the bug, he's turned all the bikes tubeless and I've never had so many...

I also need to give the xizang his 30th anniversary rebuild next year, so I'll be around.

I still pop in now and again, still like fiddling with bikes and ride most weeks on modern, or my retro roadie. I sit on facebook more as it covers my multiple interests and most of you are there too. Work, family and dog have taken priority last few years, i do miss the epics and the brilliant...

There is a skater guy in Dundee that runs around on a mint one of those. On another note, my youngest is growing up, he wants a new bike, that means he'll be selling his baby fatty - would anyone on here be interested before I give him price expectations :)

I'd call that a mk2, what is that attached to? not many bikes with built in mounting plates.

Re: Re: Yep totally agree about the weekenders, I've persuaded my local buddies to do the Torridon ride this September, I'm insanely unfit just now so will take a while to build to that.

Global Fat Bike Day Sat 7th Dec

Did several miles of bog back in September up near Glenelg - not on the fat bike - was horrible.

    MacRetro Newbies.... Introduce yourself here:

Re: :) Not far off it, the last 3 years has been intense. Lost the bike mojo a bit and a huge amount of free time now we have a dog. He's not well behaved enough yet to ride a bike with.

Re: You'd be surprised Jamie - Harry did a 24 miler when he was 6 without much persuasion, just go to go at their pace and allow a few decent rest stops - and feed a jelly baby into his mouth every 100metres on a climb. Climbs were the hardest on him but a light bike and 6 gears will be fine -...

Re: I'd like to try that one, although lots of training needed. When I did the Caledonia a while back it was blowing a hoolie and pishing down for the first half right around Rannoch, it dried up for the climb but the wind was behind us for that, it was nowhere near as bad as I'd thought it...
