I have a 20 year old 300LX rear mech running with an almost new Cook Bros front ring. I noticed today that the 3 year old chain doesn't fit well on the front ring, the pitch of the two barely match. I find it difficult to believe either the chain or front ring have worn so much. The chain also...

LX V brake levers coming this week via someone on here. Last bits then are the wheels. Found some NOS Velocity Deep V rims for £10 the pair, new Miche Primato front hub and an old M900 XTR rear, all E-Bay. Getting built this week and finished next weekend. :D

Way too late in the day I know, but I only joined the other week. For stuck components don't bother with WD40, not really a penetrator, use Plusgas instead, way way better and saved me many times. Nice build BTW, my ultimate frame that I shall only ever aspire to! :lol: :(

I'm a tight git and I have access to a lathe so rather than buy one, I'm going to make a spacer to allow me to use a 7 spd on a 8/9 hub. Trouble is I don't know how wide they are - anyone know know or got one they can measure for me? Ta.
