Re: Wanted 18" Kona steel frame full bike - Cindercone, Expl
Nice one, didn't know the lava dome was the same tubing as the Cindercone. There's a nice one going for £150, but rigid forks - I might wait until on with some air forks comes up...
Bloody love my Kona's!
Would welcome hearing from people willing to sell - must be the later 1 1/8th aheadset and ideally the groupset and fork will be in good nick (LX/XT stuff)
Will also look at any other Joe Murray bikes (Voodoo, Rock Lobster etc...).. will also potentially consider Marin steel frame as well.
Couple of bits up for grabs:
1. Deore LX chainset
Very little wear on this one, but there is a bolt stuck in the left hand crank arm, if your more skilled than me you might be able to tap it out - I'm selling this primarily to someone who already has a Hollowcore 2 chainset and who...

I looked into this a bit more as you can actually see light markings on the fork steerer that it's been in a frame of the same size and worked out ok.
Headtube is 130mm, steerer is 180mm, lets take the example of an FSA Orbit Z or Crank Bros Cobalt SL headset where the stack height is 20.1mm...
Steerer length
The fork does fit, but it will only take one shim/stack/spacer at max, different degree angles of stem or riser bars could be used if you don't like an aggressive XC type position and want more height.
I can post a picture of the forks in the headtube if you like, but I think...
I purchased the frame and fork for a project I was going to complete, but have managed to get myself a Kona Pahoehoe which I'm very happy with so these have to go.
The frame is a 1997 19" Kona Explosif made from Columbus Max steel, all in all pretty good original condition (including...
Have decided to ask £1,200 ono. I think this is fair based on the fact that it's only been ridden three times and the specification it has compared to other new bikes.
Appologies, I've put it on the sale section of the website now (so moderator can archive this thread if he likes).
I've only ridden it three times once around Bwetsy Coed and twice around Dalby Forrest.
It rides very neutral which is exactly what you want for aggressive cross country...
For sale due to the fact the I now need a hybrid/commuter bike.
I built up this bike in 2007 the Azonic Xtension Propulsion frame is a 18.5" suitable for Agressive XC/Freeride - it's an absolute joy to ride and has a full Horst link rear suspension just like the old Turner 5spot. This frame...
