    Need info: Wheeler 5500 ProLine

Hi. i Have several Wheeler catalogues(1991-1994?)that show 5500 comp lines, but no pro lines like yours, a higher class. Also your bike is lugged which makes it earlier than what I have in archives, as troje pointed out. As far as frame tubing, Tange OS DB is mentioned. Again, nice bike. I have...

    Any PEMF users out there?

Hi all. I have a PEMF device I use daily. I feel I get benefit from it. From what I have learned, there is more usage of it in Western Europe than here in the US. Just curious as to others experience with it, if any at all. Thanx

    P2 fork question.

Oh, ok. Mine came with the 93 hot I bought about 20 some odd years ago. The bike had a shock. This was just given to me as an extra. I think I actually mounted it on the bike just for a photo and took it off. As far as the twist, some sort of “lock washer” effect to keep the wheel tight??

    P2 fork question.

Hi, unsure if my pics took or not. P2 fork with the small twist in the dropouts. Normal??? Fork is NOS. Thanks everyone

Helps to discover the exact Mongoose iboc model

Re: Hi Iboc-Brazil. I had a Iboc zero g as well. Seat stays were more traditional, not the “mono stay” you have. Steel frame on mine. Looking through old magazines seem to tell me it’s iboc comp sx, with that seat stay and rounded rear dropout area. Bonded aluminum frame that gives it that...

Bianchi SUPER GL rear shock question

Re: Yes, that looks pretty close. Mine had a cane creek ad10 that didn’t last. Put on a fox vanilla float r that works good. Same spacing at 6.5”. Looks like that big diameter coil spring not really right for that app.

    Fat Chance Shock-a-billy

Very nice. There is a SAB on my local CL with the team violet frame, swing arm and mag 21, all matching colors. My size as well, sm/xs. Price WAY over my head, but awesome bike just the same. On a side, I have a set of Judy carbons with Englunds on my Bianchi. They work.

    Gary Fisher X-Caliber 1996

I believe the fisher x-caliber was equivelant to trek 970/990 frame wise. True temper OX3 triple butted. Treks top steel frame at that time. I had a few of them and liked their stiffness and durability. The amp fork I know nothing about as I think they were spec’ed with Quadra 21R. Unfortunately...

    Which Rock Shox are these?

Re: I didn’t think the 5’s had the adjuster knobs on top, but been awhile since I saw/ owned one of those.

    Mag 21 info

Re: I believe The quadras do as well, but of course it would have to be a q21r that had the crown with lowers bolted to it, not pressed in like most of them. Good luck with the search.

    Offroad Proflex 752

Re: Aw, man. That is cool. Always liked thier rear brake lever setup. Proflex started like 30 miles from me in Rhode Island. I gotta get my 753 put back together some day, but it will a far cry from your build.

    Osteoarthritis and retrobiking

As one_bad_mofo mentioned, I also have or HAD knee issues due to arthritis. Then I discovered glucosamine supplements and it's helped quite a bit. But then again. I also lost like 10-15 lbs. and go to gym regularly. I once had upper back/ neck issues and went with a slight riser stem and riser...

    90's treks

Re: Had a 990, either 95or 96 (the root beer colored one, OX3 tubing?). Oddly enough, it was only frame I ever managed to crack. Right at the head/down tube connection. For some reason, trek put the gusset at the head/top tube conn. Had the crack welded by a frame shop my LBS recommended, added...

1995 Crestone Peak VO2 Max Extreme

Re: Hi. Have fun with the new bike. Actually, there's some one on my local craigslist selling one of those dual suspension bikes with the rubber bands. Crestone Peak S.A.S. Pro 404 is the model. Been trying to sell it for awhile. Takes it off, re submits it with a slightly lower price a little...
