    Holdsworth Frame Numbers

Re: Mine has the modern headset with push in bearings, another example that they would build to order as they where built within a week of each other. For me it would be good to find that the lower hole is original the badges where on quite fine pins. When I scaled the few internet pics the...

    1930's Holdsworth Stelvio Frame?

Re: My understanding is the russ was still going well into the 50s, and if you asked for russ forks when you ordered, like pre war, they would be supplied with the frame but stamped behind the crown. Russ forks where an option with a hell of alot of makers prewar inc holdsworth, and I'm told it...

    1930's Holdsworth Stelvio Frame?

Re: That's a great frame, it's interesting to see the different locations for the frame numbers on these early frames. I would be interested to know what year they stopped stamping frame numbers on the seat tube and moved to the rear dropout and under bb positions, also when they stopped...

Re: Re: I'd like to think so, I know a few went to the usa, it was on a usa site that I recognised mine as being an argos. It a very nicely made frame with shot in fastback seat stays, very clean top end workmanship. It rides very nicely.

    Argos Cycles Refurb Identification??

Re: Mines a 5 digit number, in the early years there was the 1st 2 digits for the year then the frame number so there would have been 781, 7810 and mine 78110 that year. Yours could be say 92 but just showing 2 and the second frame that year? It's not always as simple as you may 1st imagine...

    Argos Cycles Refurb Identification??

Re: I have a 78 argos that I spent a couple of years searching for it maker,... before it dawned on me it was an argos made frame from the '78. On my frame, numbers where stamped on the rear dropout but that changed to the bb in the 80s.(which fooled me) The braizing on the the rear dropout...

    Holdsworth Frame Numbers

Re: Nice frame, in the end I had a decal made up, it looks ok but not like a badge. Your frame looks identical mine, mine has had some braise ons added. Your frame number is very close to mine, mine is 8924,so 36 frames between, the mudgaurd eyes are the prewar type like mine, I think early...

    Holdsworth Frame Numbers

a couple of pics below , if anyone with a cyclone deluxe would share the rivet spacing dimension it would help me check if mine originally had the cyclone deluxe badge. There are pics of an all chrome 1948 cyclone deluxe track frame on the net with no badge, but cannot see if the holes are there...

    Holdsworth Frame Numbers

Mine just has the one set of holes, and as I said earlier drilled off centre. I looked around for the correct badge for a while, then got some transfers made. They are near enough for me. I could not work out if the light blue or dark blue top to the badge was earlier or later.. if anyone got...

    Holdsworth Frame Numbers

Re: Hi can you add frame number 8924, cyclone deluxe It came with a modern style headbadge with the holes drilled off centre, which leads me to think that it never had the cyclone deluxe badge, but i'm not sure? It has the high level plate type mudguard brackets Thanks

    Left hand crank

I have a LH campag strada but it's 175mm. I needed a 170 crank, but got mixed up with the sizes I paid around £20 for it Would preferred to swap it for a 170mm crank Cheers Steve

Looking to ID vintage frame from lug type - better pics up!!

That's good to see. And the chrome again points to a quality frame as others have said. I suppose the forks could still be a replacement though ? I've 3 frames that I'm not sure of their maker, it's not too easy with some frames. The bigger numbers can link to the bigger builders and can be...

Is there any numbers on it, i would check the rear drop outs carefully I looked at that on the bay and thought is was a replacement fork due to the mudguard stay mounts that are in different positions. The frame looks just post war to me
