I had a thread going in the chat trying to decide what my bike is made of (Ti or steel) see March 12th for photos. Can any of you guys give me a valuation as to what this bike is worth? it's as seen in the photo's (XT F&R, XT brakes, parallax hubs etc) although the chain set has a few teeth...

Just realised how dumb my post sounded! The brown pitting isn't like the usual pitting found on steel and it's only around the bb. Is there a way of finding out which metal this frame is?

Help please!! I have a mid '90's Axis, as I recall it did have Axis TT stickers on the top tube (long gone). Can anyone tell me if this is a titanium frame from the following code under the bottom bracket? UBI 0742 U31003479 I has a few brown spots on the frame, I didn't think that...
