1962 Carlton Criterium.

A recent build of mine centred around a 1958 Raleigh Record Moderne frameset.

Newbaum's cloth tape is simply the best. Huge range of colours, great feel, thick, sticks well and each roll has more than enough for each bar.

MA40s with 28c or 32 should be fine. I run these on my 1981 Jack Taylor, MA40s with 32c Marathons, very sure footed.

Out in Plymouth this morning on this one. Dropped in a 34 tooth rear freewheel to give me a better bottom gear on the hills down here.

Original spec was 999 Weinmanns, Simplex Prestige rear mech. Simplex front changer. Brooks B17 saddle, GB bars and stem. Shortie Weinmann guards, QR Large flange hubs.

This is the colour scheme for around 72/73. Earlier (c1970/71) Crits were gunmetal grey, the later ones from around 75 were poly brown.
