Kona Project 2 fork and Velocity stem.

Re: Thanks for the offer Mat but that's a '93 stem. The '94 stem doesn't have that cable guide underneath. Many thanks

    K2 Proflex 4000 - Rear Shock help

Re: That shock is too short. The standard Noleen shock length was 209mm I to I so yours will drop the back end too much. If you want to change it out for a Fox then the one to use is a 215mm. You have to invert the shock to fit it without frame alterations and Mojo suspension can supply the...

Reader' MTBs --> 1998 (with contemporary components)

Re: Old frame with 95% original verses old frame with 95% new. Both full XT groupset. Both ride beautifully but differently. Modern XT is smoother but older XT is just as capable. Both bikes are an awesome ride. Just build it and ride it!

    My little (GT STS) collection...

Re: This is a fantastic collection. They look like works of art! The STS XCR is awesome and the LTS-1 is very cool. Maybe because it has a Girvin Vector fork but it looks so good in red and black. Thermo would be even better 8)

Never ride your retro with an unadjusted noleen fork.

Re: "Might just be hes not used to the actuation (big words tonight ) Might i ask Spokes an opinion on properly set up canti's " ??? Surely without helpful opinions this forum is pointless??? Here is another opinion Check you've used the correct critical measurement when you fitted the...

Never ride your retro with an unadjusted noleen fork.

Re: That shouldn't happen. Yes it's important to set things up properly but I've been riding and raced with crosslink forks since 1998 and never had that happen. That's not the fork, it sounds like you've got a problem. Why would it throw you over the bars? Is your wheel locking on full...

    I've learned something today.......

Re: I put a new hard anodised saucepan in the dishwasher and it came out stripped of its anodised bottom. Maybe that would work for bike parts also. If not at least they would be very clean..

    Best retro FS frame?

Re: Re: I new someone who new someone else who once said that Girvins were crap.... so they must be. Bla bla Same old same old. Linkage forks may not be for everyone, but if maintained and set up properly they are an excellent short travel xc fork. You can dare to be a little bit different or...

What state is retro biking in at the moment?

Re: I agree, the cut off needs to move forward each year as it does in the vintage/classic car and motorcycle scene. This forum is in danger of causing its own demise. As each year passes things get older and new things are developed so to set a cut off date that never changes is plain silly...

What are people's views on buying 2nd hand carbon handlebars

Two years ago I slid off on the road smashing one end of my carbon bar by about 2-3mm. I've used the bike every week since off road and the bar is fine. It still has a damaged end but so what. People worry too much about carbon, thinking it will self district on the slightest impact. It's...
