Changing the travel will change the lenght of the fork. to change from 80-63 you have to strip the forks down and put a snap a plastic shim onto the positive air shaft. If you are going to this be super careful of the o rings in the lower shaft, they are very easy to damage.
Check that they have the wavy washers that sit in the cups. Without these they will not work, and I know cannondale have none of them left, and that are a different diameter to the wavy washers used in the new si cranks.
Hello,
just found this site, Im a Scot who upped sticks and moved to Sydney Australia to chase a girl. Now work as bike mechanic in Sydney and ride my 1995 kona set up as a fixie as an everyday commuter (stuck the pic up in your rides), also just inherited a slingshot frame as an new project...
This is my Kona Killieau (?!) 1995, Bought off Evil bay in Sydney, was in rough condition so stripped the paint off in the back yard and gave it a skoosh from a rattle can. Currently running as a fixie commuter using a ENO rear hub.
Plans are to resore it to be a full retro racer (8/12/24hr's)...
Just sold my 69 type 3 squareback and bought a mk2 golf gti, in OZ the mk2's are rare as hens teeth, they only imported 286 of them, unfortunately
they are all 5 door.
