I see there has already been a recommendation for Charlie Chadwick’s writings. I keep coming back to them. It’s been quite a pleasure to retrace his rides when I’m up in north wales.

The Raleigh was and is a bit of fun. It’s a tank of a frame and fork but it’s dependable. I had quite a few nice bits in the shed; XTR, Dura-Ace and titanium odds and ends so I built it back up with them.

Whisky Winston. I have tried a few bars on it: started with on one midges and ended up with the moustache-ish Winston’s for a good position for longer days.

@dyna-ti it was good fish n chips. Yes there’s Hope bits dotted around most bikes, along with Royce, Middleburn. Not in a jingoistic way just I like the good quality and ease of maintenance rather than disposable stuff.
