    What's your number?

You all make me feel so much better about my 5 bikes and 2 frames. I was trying to get to 3 and the frames, though - just my favourite bikes and future options. But it looks like something nice is heading my way, so by the summer I'll be good with stopping at 4.

What’s everyone’s opinion? Original or ‘trick’

Re: Original or 'trick'? I look at that question as, stock or hot rod? That question needs to be answered by the frame and your intended use. If your project bike isn't going to have a hard life after the build, original parts are a nice touch. But if the bike is to be ridden like when we...

BotM September 2018 nominations SUSPENSION SPECIAL

Re: I'm a total victim for those Manitou FS rigs and normally I'd break out in hives at the sight of blue and red on the same bike. However, that Dagger rocks in a big way. Nice one.

    Another 97 Altitude TO

Yep, more pics to come. Honestly I prefer rapid fire shifters but I'm running out of 7 speed pods.

    Another 97 Altitude TO

I built this one a couple years ago. Great looking bike and such a nice ride. The frame's too big by one size so I sold it to a friend. After a year in Alberta it's back in my hands. It still feels too awkward to throw around on technical stuff, but it's ok for mellow trails and booting...

NOS 1995 Litespeed Obed (Finished Pics, pg4)

Re: obed That's rock n roll. But hey, it's such a nice build, find where the sweet spot is for your handlebar height and hack off the top of that steerer. It's a much cleaner look. You could do different stuff with that build, but you can't make it any nicer. And I mean that in the good way!

1992 Rocky Mountain titanium (Finished Pics page 3)

The nicest pics had some bike in the way. I did notice a pretty cool bike though.

    1995 Rocky Mountain Altitude

Re: I'm glad it's not my size. I've always wondered where all the non-team 95's ended up. Oak Bay and James Bay it seems! That reminds me, I gotta get a couple new stickers. If I could find another one in my size, I'd build it stock. One stocker and one hot rod. Lovely bike, dude...

1997 Rocky Mountain Altitude T.O. --- NEW PICS Feb 11

Re: too steep Yep, nice frame, nice Suntour bits, and I understand the idea as well, but I just couldn't do it. Even accounting for suspension sag, it's gonna turn out something like 72/74. The head tube might even end up as steep as 72.5 degrees. For the cost of the forks you're aiming...

    1994 Rocky Mountain Altitude

True, but I always regarded some of my friends' bikes as more exclusive for some reason. Ok, compared to say, a YBB, OCLV, Klein, or even Merlin, the Altitude is a damn nice ride and still my personal favourite. Not even Merlin captures that feeling you get on an Altitude when you stand up on...

    1994 Rocky Mountain Altitude

Re: Score! My '95 is still my favourite bike even when compared to more exclusive kit. The Altitude has the right balance of stiffness, steel ride quality, and handling. I keep looking for another one, but I keep seeing them in too big sizes as well. Good find. Congratulations. It's...
