Think I'll have to pass on the bars and get used to my current setup, can't warrant spending more on the beater.

Definitely not the calipers they've always worked great. I imagine it will be something I've done when fitting the cable. Will try greasing it up and see what happens, if not that I'll have a look at the outer as I have plenty spare.

This is going to be a stupid question but how could I do that without moving the ferule off the other end?

Re: That sounds very possible as my cutters aren't the sharpest, think ill throw a bit of grease on it and see if it goes away.

Running some old Weinmann Centre Pulls, I'm having a problem where the cable outer pops out of the top of the lever when returning the lever after braking. It's driving me mad although not causing any actual issues mechanically. What can I do to stop this. Do I need hoods on the levers to keep...

Looking to setup my Galaxy with more modern bars stem and levers, would appear you have all 3. Where are you based and what could you do price wise, I'm not too fussy on the looks as it's not my bike for best as it were, does need to be 1 1/8 steer though.
