is it a bianchi Columbus genius NTH frame? Help identify

Re: There are so many defining features on that frame that are correct. Dropouts, curved brace etc It seams unlikely it isn’t what the seller says it is, but the rear brake cable stop in the built up pics is hard to see and you could do with seeing the top of the seat tube pictured clearly to...

boy"O"boy's 1992 Marin Pine Mountain / Browning suspension

Re: Definitely a blast from the past, seeing the bicycle you ended up with, after all of your hard work and research. Reminded me of seeing mine as it was as a young man again. Pretty much exact although mine had/has XT mechs.. I remember my dad hiding all the paperwork in the spare wheel well...

Skips a ratio - regardless of how finely tuned

Re: Once Had a similar issue before realising I was using a 9 speed shifter on a road bike setup with an 8 speed cassette and a ratio that was never going to index correctly. Bent derailleur or hanger symptoms are similar although it could be as simple as a worn ferrule on the outers...

    Marin saddle wanted..

Re: Hey dude, Thanks for your message, I know these things are a pain to find on their own and it’s generally far easier and more cost effective to wait for a relatively low priced bike to pop up locally for the parts. Just didn’t want to end up with another bike for the sake of it that’ll...

Do you think this might be a go-er, or steer clear??! 'Dale

Re: Looks half decent as the paint was terrible on most Dales from the period I’ve had over the years, be it from new and chipping easily to old clunkers with blistering due to the alloy. Check the forks are straight and true along with the rear stays. Have a look inside the seat tube for any...

Retro work bike - ideal frame and geometary

Re: Good question.. I’m one of those funny folk that prefer 90s steel rigid MTBs for the road despite owning several modern road bikes. Cannondale being the only real exception to the steel over the years. M1000 was terrific for commuting and really held its own better than it did off road...
