The Via Nirone 7 with the Sora groupset is a hydroformed aluminium frame, as the models in the range get better, all that changes is the groupset. With the 105 and Veloce gears they get carbon fibre rear stays, so the components might be suitable for another frame if the price was right.

I have two Champion Mondials, a 1976 A Frame which I had cold set by Woodrups in Leeds to 130mm from 120mm.
I also have a 1993 AA Special which has a 130mm rear dropout spacing.
I think an 8 speed transmission means 130mm, although I could be very wrong!
I have a 1977 Gazelle Champion Mondial, which was cold set to 130mm (I think it was originally 120mm).
The work was done by Woodrup's in Leeds (cost about £40 I think), they did advise me that it might break the frame, but it didn't.
This bike is in daily use today.
Hope this helps.
I don't know TBH, if I have then great!
I intend to sell this as it is of no use to me but I wanted to get my facts right before putting it in the For Sale forum.
All I know is what I have written, did manufacturers have different "types" at this time, or in the seventies was a bottom bracket...
I have taken this bottom bracket out of a 1976 Gazelle,
The axle has Shimano and 3P stamped on it, I believe that 3P relates to the size (according to Sheldon Brown)

Have a look for Novatec, I have these on my Winterbike and they use commercial bearings so are easy to replace should the weather get to them and are cheap!

Saddened to read this.
If you google the writer's name and town it is quite interesting the amount of times that a person with that specific name in that town has written to the newspapers...
I was with Direct Line for a few years, but discovered that they only underwrote bikes specified in the policy to a value of £1000.
As my fleet increased to four bikes the £1000 value seemed to be a little low, so I looked into separate bike insurance for my more valuable bikes, but this proved...
I use LAB-GEAR stuff, it is Australian made Merino and can be found here http://www.lab-gear.com, it is classed (by themselves) as technical or urban clothing but they do a good range of cycling specific stuff. The designer is a keen cyclist who rides a San Andreas.
