I have an early nineties alpinestars and that has a 73mm shell so I would assume that yours will be the same.

Paul Thanks very much, that's very helpful. Just measured up both frames and the mongoose had a 68mm shell whereas the as has a 73mm shell so I guess I would have had to buy a new one anyway...

Can anyone help me please? I have a Cro-Mega LX (not the elevated chainstay one) and I cant find what size BB I need....Sorry, should have said, I have a Shimano BB-UN50 that I took off my MongooseIBOC Comp of similar year (early nineties) but I read somewhere that Mongoose used different thread...
