Selling my very original Kona Dawg 2006. All original parts except saddle and peddles even on original tyres!!!
For age it is in very good condition with only some cable scuffs on top tube. Hasn't been ridden in anger in about 10+ years. Brakes refurbished about 6 years ago but not used since...
Thanks for all the feedback. I think the consensus is that it is FUBARd. Which is a shame as was really excited about this build. To cheer myself up I've just bagged a full carbon frame for £125. Lighter and hopefully with no dents/cracks!!!
Anyone want to by a Kula Deluxe frame - just a few...
Re:
Got the frame back and have a much better idea of what is what.
Firstly, the identity of the frame. On the seat post there is a clear Easton logo stamped and the word Ultimate just below it. Combine that with a clearer serial number (F210K0691 3I-50) and I'm pretty sure it's a Kula...
Re:
Well - another update after some revealing news.
I now know why the frame was repainted. Just got these pics through from the shot blaster...
Apparently the dents (and these are not all of them apparently) were filled with filler and then sprayed over. I could go the same way and get...
Re:
I'm starting to think it may be a 2006 Kula Deluxe. Have found these pictures and the head tube and the rear dropouts seem to match, as does the red/blue colour scheme - apart from the last pic - but perhaps there were two colour options?
Re:
Well, it arrived and was collected this morning from the nice people at the Parcelforce depot.
It's a bit on the grubby side and very much a diy paint job with an awful finish. There are many points where the paint is flaking off revealing what I assume is the original colour.
I've taken...
Seems to have been relisted at £175.
Also - that looks waaaay bigger than 18"
Mine is sitting in the garage collecting dust. If it's worth this much I might have to think about selling...
Re:
well - I'll take some better pictures including serial number when the frame arrives. :)
I got it for £40 + postage in the end so worth the gamble if it is a Kula....
Long time no post. After a retro bike hiatus I have recently started a couple of new builds after some crazy eBay action.
Recent purchase was an unidentified Kona frame that was very poorly described on eBay. I'm fairly confident that what I managed to buy is a 18" 1994 Explosif with a very...
yup, one and the same. glad to see it went to a good home and that the build worked out for you. Still a little sad to see it go and that i never got to ride it in anger as they say.
Enjoy!
I'm putting my 1994 Kona Hot frame up for sale. It's 19" and has the all important TET stamp on the bottom. I'm 5'9" and it just about fits me, but ideal for people taller than me. Its all original paint work and besides the usual chain suck its in great condition. There are a few cable rubs in...
Kona Hot - 1994 - 19" Black
Thinking of turning to the dark side and getting a road bike, and given that I have only ridden my Hot twice since I built it, I think its best to pass onto a new owner who can appreciate it more.
So - will likely be stripping the build down and selling all...
