Stanchions are top notch, they've still got the boots fitted and no tears so they look like they've been doing their job for the life of the fork. No play at all between the stanchions and the fork legs, if that's what you mean.

Thanks for your replies, definitely a lucky typo for me :) After trawling a few catalogues, i think its a '97 as there's no canti cable boss on the frame. Mystery as to why its got the canti levers on it but the whole bike definitely seems a random assortment. I found a 97 Klein catalogue...
