I have bought a similar frameset (Claud Butler Spectre - Reynolds 653 Magnum). I have little previous experience with steel frames, so I can't compare. The ride does feel quite harsh on this bike with rigid forks...

I'm not too expert in those things, can you give info on the axle to crown length on these forks ? Approx 430-450 mm ?

I used a greased screw and a tougher allen key. A little bit a torque and the thread is back to its "normal" state :)
Sorry for bothering, but I would not have put the necessary torque if you hadn't told me the thread was surely standard.

I'm sure the screw I use M5 as it fits perfectly in the front fork.
I just tried harder on the screw : broke the (cheap) allen key that came with the racks :lol: Will try with my real allen key tonight !
Even if the allen key is dead, you guys may be right. Looks like there is some...
