Re the forks your right, of course the Canti's were a problem, bought a cable stop which helped, but I have since reverted to a V brake, I actually prefer the look of the rigid myself...
bars all taped, not perfect but as this is the first drop bar bike I've rebuilt and hence my first attempt at bar tape, I reasonably happy, also gives a hint as to the colour scheme
Still going to be a couple of weeks till I get the frame back from the painters though :roll:

Frame fully stripped, cleaned, degreased and primed ready to go off to the painters, going to keep quiet about the colour until it comes back, as I could be committing a sin but colour is within reason down to my Mrs and Son, so hate it or love it, it will be what it is.........
Just been in contact with our Bodyshop, and they will colour & clear coat the frame for £30.... :D All I've got to do is finish off the strip, clean,degrease & primer the frame prior to the paint job.
Result....benefits of working for a large motor dealer group I guess
the cockpit starting to come together....not a period stem, but planning on painting the frame black so it shouldn't look to far out of place......I hope
Got new rim tape so wheels are now built, now starting on the paint strip, for reference B&Q paint stripper is terrible and or 30 year old paint does not give up very easily...... :roll:
Ok so I was a little concerned about the condition of the wheels, and after spending several more hours polishing other metal parts the time came to get to work on the wheels. While they are not perfect they turned out more than acceptable with a little work
Also the new tyres turned up, just...
