    Thank you very much for this great info. As it happens unfortunately the frame seems a little small for me....what a pity. Want to keep it anyway because I just like the way it looks and small frame ok for me for short flat distances at least!

    Thank you, appreciated - it seems from my research it’s not a top French brand at all, but this might have been a higher model - certainly for my untrained experience it rides well and is super light — will look into chainset, thanks for advice!
