I guessed that there were 30 originally. I took 29 out of the top & 24 out of the bottom. The bottom cup is in worse shape than the top. I wondered if I should just replace the headset?

I saw some in use a few weeks ago. Somone leaving a cycle jumble had boutght a couple of wheels and used those to hang his new wheels on his bike. He also had stuff (including some mud guards) sticking every which way out of his panniers. 8)
