Hello. I'd like to try a suspended fork on front end but anxious not to disturb the lightness and balance of a decent frame (Rocky Ridge). Is there anything people would recommend/have tried and found serviceable from the new options available still for a canti or V braked 1 1/8 size steerer? thanks

saved for 20 quid. rusty rear spokes and chain will need replacing but rest mostly saveable; alloy cranks, V brakes; directional from tyre, alloy rims. Nothing special specwise but nice thin tubed frame and SIS friction shifters. I'll get into roadworthy condition myself if no-one specifically...

looks like a bmx to me and not a particularly good one at that, by the look of the headset and stem... But isn't the key thing of a restoration that you are interested in the bike a bit, might actually use it a bit (or have someone to give it to when you have finished)? Do a bit more research...

these are also pretty good apart from the red bits needing glueing on to the handles a bit better! Have cut inner and and outer and there is a little doobry for clearing the nylon from the inner hole before you push the cable through. Obviously, not going to last...

thanks all. I was just wondering what the possibilities were with them. There are too many around at present not just to use the proper stuff at present... but re-using would be good, especially where the kit is light or high quality....
