Found this 8 £ KHS Alite 4000 in the pile of thrashed bikes at todays westend fleamarket in Oslo. BB is shot. Will use the parts on a F 1000 Cannondale cad 3 frame. Anyone know if the 109 mm BB5500 Octalink will work on a Cannondale in Place of the 112,5 Xtr BB ?
I don't normally buy old suspension stuff but this seemed too good a deal on a sunday morning. 96 F 1000 With a 99 Fatty Super D fork. The fork needs work and I don't even know if it's possible to get parts for it. Put on some studded tires and took it for a spin on very wet snow. Man this frame...
Bought this used but not abused DBS some time before Christmas. It has mostly Dura Ace EX parts.Columbus tubing, my guess is Aelle R, the butted version of Aelle. (the Columbus sticker says butted and it has a 26.8 seatpost). I have the Dyna Drive pedals but opted for adapters and put on a cheap...
Could the lugged 88 Pine Mountain frames be Japanese made and these Tig-welded (also Prestige tubes) be Taiwanese ? These were probably meant for the Norwegian market, maybe they tried to reduce costs. I would have loved to get the lugged frames but for that price I can't complain.
I feel like a dinosaur, at 56 I like the long low stems I rode in the nineties. Now I love long gravelroad rides and my setup looks like this, I just do not get the advantages of short stems:
I bought a Proflex Beast in 97 and was not impressed with it. Thought I was through riding the rough stuff but I found I wanted to ride in the mountains and my hardtail is just that, hard. So I bought this three year old Cube AMS 100 just now. Not too shure how hard it has been used (pretty...
I took off some Tomaselli levers in used but quite OK condition. Not much of a market in Norway, how much shipped could I try to get here on Retrobike ?
I have three bikes set up with riserbars and barends. I like wide bars and I like to climb with barends. It looks a bit dorky so if I find a nonrise straight bar that is cheap and wide enough I might replace the bars.
Got this titanium frame for a little over 100 £. Not much ridden if at all, the guy I bought it from said it was a TST/Sandvik Mongoose Pro-frame from around 2000. I put on a Surly 1x1 fork and 8 speed XT and it is the best gravelgrinder I have ever owned.
Pretty nice welds.
