    Culling the fleet!

You could always sell a bonty to me knowing you could have it back anytime, then sort out my old Tazmon for something to do. Win Win!

Repeated inner tube punctures. Continental & Halfords. Mavic & Araya rims.

+1 to that. Talc (or other powder of your choice) should fix it. And don't leave the valve lock ring done up really tight once the tube is pumped up.

    UK Sepsis Trust

Since April, Jack Peterson (who is local to me and well known in lots of cycling circles) has been riding around the entire coast of Great Britain on his bike, on his own with a tent. He has been doing this to raise money for the UK Sepsis Trust. Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the...

Two minutes flat ... I remember that tube change ...

There is hope, my 8 year old has just fixed a puncture for the first time under a bit of my guidance, and was dead chuffed to do so!

    Help preserving bubbling flaking paint.

Soda blasting is a great way to remove paint from fragile metalwork. I haven't even bothered painting my 6061 frame since and it has not corroded beyond going a nice matt colour in 8 years. I only paid about £30, and it was money well spent compared to hours of hard work sanding.

    Casting Polyurethane For Replacement Elastomers?

Well following up from my original post, I found some plastic caps from work which were the perfect size for Manitou elastomers. I mixed up some 60 shore 2 pack but got the ratio slightly wrong and they didn't harden/cure completely. Then family got in the way so I bought some replacement...

Best method of cleaning white grips and saddles.

I used to use Persil or Daz or whatever washing powder my mum had at the time for my white handlebar tape and saddle. Worked a treat 25 years ago, dunno if LGF's suggestion is better these days.
