Looking for 1" canti forks for 26"/559mm wheel. 22.2mm inside diameter, a-c should be 390mm, over 19cm steerer needed (minimum based on old forks is ca. 192mm). Threadless is also fine, but of course the steerer needs to be longer in that case. I'd prefer e.g. lugged forks with thin blades over...

Right, but I think I'll stick with the 170. With a current big cassette (say up to 34 or 36) I could get the sort of gearing I'm after also with a road triple chainset, but I feel a nice 110/74 set might suit the build better.
