    80s sr axles

Hi folks. I recently suffered the breakage of a rear axle of a mid 80s SR rear hub on a 126. I bought but have yet to fit a nos Campag 130 OLD. Is this the correct component?

    Electroetching some cranks

Interesting stuff. Is it possible to re-anodize to say, a 'particular finish' as expressed here https://www.metalfinishingsltd.co.uk/articles/can-anodising-be-refurbished/ ?

Saddened to hear about Tony Doyle. Here's bit of TD performing alongside top names in Glasgow Kelloggs 1984....

Tubular tyres - all new never fitted, glued or taped

Re: Rally 21, bhill22 (I swore I'd never go back to 'em... but recent experience via a round one and some fifty weeks/3,000 miles... Dammit... ).

    1986 Bob Jackson 531c, finished ! !

Re: 1986 Bob Jackson 531c Quality wheel build, Mike. As age advances, my 13-21 x 42/52 set ups become increasingly more like your 24s - or 31s... The phenomenom of (then) Malcolm Elliot is very inspirational.

    Riding Undersize?

Not to divert the thread, mattr, but that's a bit dismissive. RB's 'older bikes' forums thrive on dishing out collective knowledge/understanding/experiences for all bike-minded. Probably, over a few electrons different, you could've incorporated some meaningful advice. "'right?'" ➡️ .

    Any union members here?

Tangentially related - maybe - but something seriously needs fixing for the rapidly increasing millions of us currently involved with employment agencies on zero hours 'contracts'. None, or reduced hours = no or reduced wages with the subsequent knock-on effects. Is there any union...

    Help identifying an Italian bike

The top tube decal remnants suggest 'Record', but the other doesn't spell out 'Moser'. USA-based bikeforums site via C and V subforum could maybe answer - they can be quite hot on 'Italian' bikes and a vastly bigger audience.

    Riding Undersize?

Haha. Yip. If it feels good, ride it! Truth be told, I've yet to discover the ATB/MTB experience but it's increasingly looming larger... Makes for some persistent good blether with work pals over 'discussions' re toe clips, freewheels and 52/3 chainrings not to mention shifting. There's a...

    Robert Millar = Philippa York.

Re: I've nothing but respect and admiration for Philippa's announcement. A true pioneer in breaking European-born continental domination, it was (and still remains) an indelible magic memory seing that 1984 KOtM jersey winging it around Kellogs'/C4's Glasgow Square. Truly inspirational. As for...

    Riding Undersize?

I'm increasingly minded to 'believe' in not just frame size (seat / top tube) but corresponding frame angles. At just under 6' 1", inside seam 32", curent go-to is a 56cm square on 73/73 (I think). Both seat post and stem height are fine but therein lies the key problems: power applications...

Is there a market for used sprint rims?

add: GEL280's incurred a relatively historic bad press; so far, via mixture of town/road/some shocking roads around Stirling/Alloa it needs more frequent truing but after 2500 miles/75kg/grimpeur no sign of eyelet stressing...

Is there a market for used sprint rims?

Still using red label GP4, Montlhery Pro and Ambrosio Montreal any of which occasionally catch the eye and usually a good ensuing blether... Been a few times recently when a chain gang rider has sidled up offside and commented, "Tubs, eh? Ah need to get back onto them!" Aye? Right! Do it!
