I could essentially spend a lot, but I don't really see much point in doing for my first real trail bike. Got any suggestions to keep an eye out on eBay for? Was looking at the Carrera Banshee X, looks like a really nice bike, but around £500 or so second hand still lol.

Out of curiosity, what would you say is a good stepping stone onto the trailing/mtb scene?

I'm currently selling my jump bike, but if that doesn't sell, I can use the wheels, tyres, grips, seat and most of the bits off it to put into this frame, which is what I was going to look at doing, as the money from the jump bike was only going to fund a Carrera Banshee X or similar :)

My friends Dad got given this frame (saved it from a visit to the tip) a few months ago, he had the intentions of building it up, and then using it on trails etc... But he just never got round to it, so he's said if I want I can buy it off him. I've been interested in getting a mountain bike...
