Re: also resurrecting an old thread. bought a bear valley SE for £15 basically as a friend wanted the rapid fire shifters. ended giving him the front mech, rear mechs as well. the chainrings were shot. so the plan is to run it as single speed and i'm nearly there apart from the bloody...

here's mine - the catalogue says 1982..... picture of mine now sporting ergo's and a leather/suede saddle... and the red one isa holdsworth mistral - about the early 70's

not sure that your holdsworth is a "nuovo record" mine has the name in itallics along the top tube near the headset and as far as i know they wern't chromed. they produced this model for a year in 1982. i know of 3 others, all in the usa and all 4 have serial numbers within 100 of each other...

have 2 old bikes: 1982 holdsworth nuovo record, kitted out with campag and ergo's 1970 something holdsworth mistral single speed with a nice amount of chomre. will post pictures when i get some decent ones.
