That I intend to do using spokes attached to rim and a vernier caliper. I will endeavour to make the spokes flush with the bottom of the recess of the nipple and measure accordingly with spokes and vernier caliper to get my best estimate of the erd of any wheels I chose to build.

I am pretty sure it is 526 as it appears identical to a Ryde X-plorer. It also seems to be a disc brake version of the rim.

Very good advice. I might see if I can find a rigid fork. Does this model's rigid forks vary much with the subsequent models in subsequent years. So I would be ok to use a a 1992 or 1993 fork even though they were made later.

Ok so which models of Marzocchi are reasonably priced and would work say with 60 mm travel?

It is dusty where we are. So perhaps might give it a miss.

I just had that front mech in my spares. What would use for that year and model instead? I could find a front rigid fork for it. Unfortunately it was sold before I could get my hands on it. Anyone have a Marin rigid front fork as an alternative?
