actually i was going to suggest one like this ^ and wondered if you could dye or colour the white with purple (it is a project after all) maybe uniposca pen?
That stay will need replacing or at minimum some braze filling of holes. Ive had many similar situations. You could spend money painting it just for the corrosion to still be there. At the cost of media blasting, repairs and paint theres probably not that much difference in having a new tube fitted.
I think that would be determined on a garment by garment basis by an individual. The materials themselves are probably nicer than the early 90s shiny but poor fitting elasticated kit. Do you have any from the Campania/Naples region?
Last one of those i looked at had a USA factory serial number and you can see those features in the stays so maybe the frames were shipped back and used here due to low sales abroad? mid 90s vibe
other forums have stated previously the Millennium 531 can be tig welded as the tubes have a thicker section at the end and are slightly heavier. The downtube does however look like aero profile as used by 853 Raleigh, Donhou, Weigh and others inc a Sirius micro track bike i own.
Its a french brand from Saint Etienne that made mopeds and everything else with two wheels. It folded some time back. A fairly small outfit. Im not sure any of the frames were their own work. Now whilst no Columbus EL frame should be worthless, espeially one with nice detail thats more or less...
The price scalping on Team Raleighs got out of hand... Q lots of people reproducing them, some more faithfully than others. A certain frame builder from years gone by with a well known shop churns them out for customers and i think that's a shame. Even Raleigh struggled to sell the last reissue...
Patrick Schils of Marks Tey Essex sold a few of these back in the day under his then brand Diavolo. It was an early OEM frame from taiwan along the lines of similar frames from Aegis/kestrel/vitus -zx1 and Early Trek OCLVs etc . If i come up with the specific brand/factory i'll update the post...
I have serviced Maddux wheels before, they are just cheap wheels fitted to Cannondales as OEM. Freehub bodies dont last long and are not serviceable as with many low end wheels - you replace the unit if it starts running rough. I would avoid unless youre getting a pair of training wheels for £20...
