Never, EVER, dare to repaint it! It's in a way too good condition to fettle about with. Give it the oily rag treatment and it will be fine forever. Clean it, buff it, wax it, maybe a little sewing machine oil or even better, white vasoline on a soft cotton rag, wipe off excess and presto. But...

For me personaly, I can't seem to think else of a Litespeed as with a Pace up front. Don't know why, but it just fits like a fiddle. Them Spinergy Spox's top it of with a cherry - nice cupcake this one!

Popping it out with pressure will be difficult I guess. Maybe it can be pulled out with pullingrods or a small sliding hammer like they use for bodywork. That is if the tube allows light welding: the rods must be welded on, and if using the hammer, you need to drill a hole. Crimping might...
