after thinking the bottom bracket on my "enfield" was an Chater-Lea, i can now admit i made an mistake i removed the chainset last week an today just started to clean up the bottom bracket (its still in the frame) i have noticed on one of the cups it has stamped "Brampton" the bottom...

thanks for all the info! If the cranks are Nicklin, which they very much look like they are... could that point towards the bike was cheaper or higher end of the bike market? it has a Huret Svelto rear dérailleur (5 speed) identical to this with Benelux down shifter

hello all i think i will repaint it as it should be, the paint on the frame is too far gone to leave it, the metal doesnt seem to be corroded much, im just worried about the brazes etc i have a sandblaster in work so i can "hopefully" get the frame really smooth for some new paint i was...

im confused

just removed the chain set off my Royal Enfield an i thought it was a William's its a 3 bolt, exactly the same as this one i believe mine is a C1200? judging on this picture mine looks identical but i cant find any stamps on the arms to say its a Williams?

the lugs have all been touched up by the previous owner (with a paint roller judging on the state of them!) i think its "unitized" (what ever that means) 531 tubing full spec as per catalogue is Frame: patent "unitized" frame constructed by exclusive welding process of Reynolds "531"...

all i can say is Thank you! i gave the stem bolt a "wack" an the forks basically fell out of the frame marvellous i had kinda forgotten about the wedge thingy
