Finished.... nearly It seems an absolute age since I did an update on the build. Well, we're pretty much there. New Jagwire cables, new Record headset, Turbo seat, bar tape, plus tyres and brakes I had in the shed (which I want to change, but cash has run out!). Everything has been stripped...

I need to post up some pics soon, as the bike is coming together really well. I just need to reconnect the gears and bb and we'll be ready to roll. I've stopped trying to figure out what model it is... maybe I look into again one day!

Re: I've just had a great 'customer experience' at Halfords in their paint department. I went along with my forks looking for a touchup paint on their selves. Quite quickly a chap came over to me and asked if he could help. I showed him the forks and he said he'd try and mix the right colour...

Time for a beer I think!

Oh heck, now look what's happen. While unscrewing the bolt, its head has came off!

Some of the markings I've found on these sites are close to mine - but the Ace of Clubs icon on the head tube doesn't have the World Championship stripes - so it must have been sprayed at some time: http://www.raydobbins.com/misc/Colnago_ ... atalog.htm...

I hadn't thought about exploring early 80s. Looking at some of the catalogues, the paintwork looks close to mine. I had thought this may have been resprayed at some time. Maybe not. Here are a few more detail shots.

Thank you - it is a JDX. Unfortunately it's going to be removed and not replaced as I can't source the unique tool needed. I'm going to source a Campag headset instead. I would like to spec it as close to the original as possible. I haven't managed to find the frame code in the recommended...
