    Dropouts

120mm should be correct. But, a quick Google search yielded examples of the Butler frames with 114, 115, and 116mm rear dropout spacing. http://hilarystone.com/frameset9.html Based on that information, I assume your frame was spread to the 120mm, to fit a more common wheelset, at some point. I...

NOS 1994 Klein Quantum II build and blog

Well, I was distracted by another build for a while. But, I finally got around to ordering some of the parts. The replacement outboard bearing bottom bracket from Phil Wood is here along with the Campy Record headset and a shim so that I can use a 1 1/8" stem with the 1" steerer tube. It really...

NOS 1994 Klein Quantum II build and blog

I recently found, and won, a NOS 1994 Klein Quantum II from eBay. Since this is the second time I am doing a Klein build in a year, I decided I would start a blog about the experience. There are a number of tricks I have learned about getting parts, getting old ones removed, and new ones...

    Eddy Merckx Paint Scheme

TheElectronicKid may be on to something. At first glance it looked lavender to me, but the pic next the the metallic grey brake calipers definitely makes it look pink/grey/black. And not pink/lavender/black. Fwiw I have never seen an Eddy with a bad knock off of this paint scheme, and I don't...

    Eddy Merckx Paint Scheme

It is not pink, it is lavender ;) Also, sorry if I implied that I thought it was actually ridden by the team. It is just the paint scheme, I have no idea how to tell if it was an actual team bike. I worked in a bike shop during those years and sold a few of those frames. They ride really well.

Nos Klein quantum 1994 with BIN

Brilliant idea, thank you so much! I took a bunch of different photos, sorry for the long pictures. I tried to shrink them down so they would load fast. I did take one of the inside of the fork near the crown, the paint there is in good condition, which is surprising. But, the fork dropouts look...

Nos Klein quantum 1994 with BIN

At first I thought it might not be, since the steerer tube is marked with a "57" notating it was made for a 57cm frame... and this frame is a 51cm. But after setting up the frame and bike like the picture and comparing, I can tell that it is the same fork from the picture.

DA 7402 caliper cable adjuster barrel

These are currently at $26, if you could get them cheap, it might be the bestway to source the part. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SHIMANO-DURA-AC ... 2ec5eb9733

Nos Klein quantum 1994 with BIN

I did send the guy a note and he responded with a lengthy denial and an obvious lack of knowledge about the bike. I am planning to send a concise note today to see if he will answer the question more directly. How is the durability on the Klein aluminum road forks? Have you heard of any...

Nos Klein quantum 1994 with BIN

Guys, I could use some advice. The frame was definitely NOS as described, and stunning. But the fork is used, and definitely has lots of miles on it. Though, the fork appears to be in good shape, I am nervous. What do you think? >>added this next line on edit. I am not sure I would have...

Nos Klein quantum 1994 with BIN

Woo, thanks for clearing that up, I was nervous for a second about getting a headset. Well as soon as it is here, I imagine I will be spending some time with a set of calipers measuring for and planning this project. Hmm, now I just have to finish my current project so I have time. I guess I...

Nos Klein quantum 1994 with BIN

I won this auction. :) FedEx has it in NJ now and on its way to Texas. I did not bid until the last moments of the auction and was surprised that the price doubled so quickly. But, I am very excited to be getting my second Klein and was very surprised that there was a nos one to be found. I...

    Colnago Arabesque frame NOS!

Something fishy... It looks like the same deck and background to me. So either this person located a couple identical bikes or he is manufacturing these or this one is a scam. This is my first post and the forum limits links, so I will add the link in my second.
