91 Merlin retro/modern/custom build (aka the Merlingham)

This frame 49 frames younger than mine. Mine, No. 3850, was purchased in SFco, also in 1992. Strangely yours don't have the noodle. I am also planning to replace my Rock Shox with a Type II or a Ti rigid. Good luck with the rebuild.

    No.3850 - That 20 yrs old Merlin.....still looking good!

Coming from you sir, this is more than a compliment. Thank you. Well, this Litespeed Ti stem is the original that came with the bike, so i will keep it. Wouldn't mind finding a rigid fork to replace the RockS though, could order a Steve Potts Type II, with a black crown (as on Bushpig's...

    No.3850 - That 20 yrs old Merlin.....still looking good!

I always wanted a Cunningham, and as soon as i could afford one, he'd stopped building. This bike was put together in 1992 in San Francisco, in a bike shop on Lombard street by an enthusiastic young guy, who was asked to build a bike that he would build for himself. Initially it came with a...

2009 Jeff Jones 3D Spaceframe Ti

Here you go Roy http://jonesbikes.com/blog/?attachment_id=762 It is done, but as I heard, Rohloff is heavy and slow (this according to some builds + users, I myself never used 1). I initially was toying with that idea myself, but was also recommended Alfine (I think it was Paduano's...

Look guys, first of all there is no grumpiness on my part, especially toward the bike, and the money Salty spent on it. And none really at Salty. From the beginning I was there to answer his questions as much as I could. Its just that talking about its cost again and again, I think its not...

Oh that is a bunch of horse pooh. The Jones bikes get praised on all the forums, MTBR, by far more than here (most UK owners discuss their bikes on MTBR, and not on Retro). (Read this 1 first) http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?p ... 8#poststop http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t ...

To me it looks as if the bike is too big for you. I also recall you were looking at the 23. With 6ft height, you still would of being fine, or better off on a 23. The way your leg is stretched with the pedal location, it looks like you need to lower your seat post.
