I find it incredible that a bike manufacturing company cannot trace a frame number back to the model they made!!!!!!! Completely mad!!! What's the point of putting the number on in the 1st place? Officer I've had my bike stolen.... it's a M700. OK sonny we have a bike here with a reference...

Why not send the numbers to Cannondale themselves, and see if they can shed any light on it.
