Thank you all great help, I'm still no closer to knowing the Viking model but I think it is defo a Viking which I'm pleased with as at one point I had my doubts
Some more digging and research might uncover some answers so I will keep trying.
Good observation on the dropout I will give it a good look tomorrow, can't imagine why someone would cut it off though?
I See lots of information online but many sites do say old 531 plain gauge is 26.8mm So who knows, are there any other ways of identifying the tubing?
Thanks great picture yes I'm feeling more confident on the Viking front but still some questions to answer and more mysteries with the lugs very similar to the picture but not quite as is often the case with these things so many variations and combinations
I'm also really struggling to find any other bikes/pictures with the same headtube lug shapes all Nervex lugs seem much shorter and dare I say it less ornate!

With a 26.8mm seat post I'm guessing that could be Reynolds 531 as they come with ranging diameters?

Thanks, I agree it's a shame I'd just be happy knowing it was a Viking at this stage. My thoughts are why go to all the effort of putting Viking badge and sign on if it wasn't a Viking???
