Falcon Model 76 Team Equipe 71-73 colour scheme

I am intending to restore a lovely old Falcon model 76 Team Equipe frameset from the later period of this top-of-the-range bike (71-73). I have another complete bike in the usual Falcon racing blue with white/red decals and chrome forks/rear ends. For this reason, i'd like to restore the...

Falcon Triomphe 653 - Anyone know anything about it?

I bought the 76 Team Equipe from a friend when it was a couple of years old...probably in about '75. Lots of parts and an older Claude Butler frame were involved in the frame i seem to recall! I've had the Triomphe since new and bought it from a bike shop in Dorset...that's why i still have some...

Falcon Triomphe 653 - Anyone know anything about it?

Re: I had a gorgeous Model 76. Like a fool, i was badgered into selling it many years ago and have been looking for another ever since! Seems to me they are as rare as Unicorns...gave up the quest some time ago! Mark

Falcon Triomphe 653 - Anyone know anything about it?

Re: Falcon Triomphe The Falcon Triomphe was their top of the range road bike made from 1985 until about 1987. The '85 and '86 frames were ( very well) constructed in 531C..i can't comment on a version in 653 but it seems entirely possible that the '87 model was constructed in this tubing. They...

    Vintage Claude Butler...unknown model/year

Thanks Terry, It certainly gets well used and is an absolute joy to ride. It's amazingly lively for such an old bike...probably helped by very lightweight spokes and ASP rims with skinny 1'' tyres. It's a bit high geared for where i live (55 thro' 98) but the old alloy shelled SA works perfectly...

    Vintage Claude Butler...unknown model/year

Hi, I have a lovely old Claude Butler about which i can seem to find absolutely nothing! I have looked at various sites, previous posts, catalogue reprints from the alte 30's through early 50's and can find nothing which resembles my bike. In every case, the frame angles apear wrong, the lugs...
