Today was my first big challenge of the year. The 50 mile Cornish Alpine Challenge. 4500+ft of climbing over normally inaccessible challenging offroad areas. (I dont know how War Horse survived without any problems as it was tough).
For years I've dreamed of achieving this but health meant...
Bit of a long shot but does anyone by any chance have a front maxle that will fit my Boardman. It's for Rockshox forks, 15x110 (boost). Mine has been damaged and need the bike for my 24hr fundraising challenge in 2 weeks.
Thank you.
Thanks guys. Turns out I still have a set of clarks levers in my parts bin, thought I'd already used them 🙄. Really don't want to spend much on it as it already owes me more than it's worth (bought another carrera but the frame was bent so had to get another frame) but just building bikes to...
Hi. Does anyone have a very cheap set of V brake levers? I'm trying to rebuild a scrap carrera and it's the last bit I need. Typically I have about a dozen scrap bikes but they all have either broken levers or the plastic rubbish.
Thanks all.
18 mile ride after work tonight. Was treating this as a training ride so was pushing myself but I can't deny that I just wanted to ride into the sunset.
Today was a good day. My first time back at Cardinham woods since 2019. I did some actual mountain biking. I'm slow, I'm in pain but I loved every second of it.
After a couple of difficult days at work I was in agony this morning and my mindset really wasn't where I want it to be. Decided a short ride would help. Ended up doing just over 20 miles which wasn't too bad considering a mile in I was struggling with the pain.
It was a reminder of why I'm...
Another bike I saved from scrap. The main reason I kept it is because of the colour and the fact the frame is in remarkably good condition. I've added some Easton bars, Tioga tyres, modern Lapierre saddle and modern pedals to replace the knackered parts but it rides surprisingly nicely.
I'm...
Took my most recent build out for a test ride this morning despite the threat of a thunderstorm. Started lovely out on the moors, then the thunderstorm hit. You know it's wet when you have lakes sloshing around in your shoes every pedal rotation 😂.
Some of you may know my situation by now but for those who don't, well bikes have been my saviour this past year. I've been trying to build what I can with what I have and still be able to enjoy myself as I'm not letting it beat me. When this frame came up as Karma on here I fell in love with...
I'm not sure. It's the 27.5 subway so around 2019/2020 I think. Was going to be scrapped but I saved it and rebuilt it with better components. I can't ride drop bars any more after developing chronic pain syndrome in 2020 but for a bike that cost me £20 to build I love it.
It's near St austell in Cornwall. The area is known for its China clay and this is one of the old disused clay pits which has been turned into a lake. There's a 50 mile off road ride here every year which I'm doing in July.
A tough 19 mile ride today. Despite a strong wind and this being my 3rd day in a row of hard riding I was feeling brave so took on a route I've been too scared to do. Safe to say I'm aching but have no regrets.
