It's near St austell in Cornwall. The area is known for its China clay and this is one of the old disused clay pits which has been turned into a lake. There's a 50 mile off road ride here every year which I'm doing in July.
A tough 19 mile ride today. Despite a strong wind and this being my 3rd day in a row of hard riding I was feeling brave so took on a route I've been too scared to do. Safe to say I'm aching but have no regrets.
Raleigh had several 'wonderful' designs 🤣. I had a Raleigh Max Lite (the same as the picture) recently and it was interesting to say the least. I liked it but then I'm a weirdo 😂
Today was a special day. Every year around this time we set ourselves personal challenges in memory of our friend Fran who was an inspiration to many. Today I managed my longest ever solo ride, a 50 mile ride through the moors on Spirit (my Giant Trance). As you can imagine with it being in...
To be honest I like them. This was abandoned outside for a year so was a wreck when I got given it. The plan was to fix and sell it back in December but I ended up keeping it. All in it owes me about £20 😂.
Technically last night's ride but only just got online since. Evening ride filled with drama (broken bike, lights nearly running out of battery and a several mile detour due to a lorry in a ditch) but still felt amazing. I love evening and night rides.
Yes it's a modern carrera but it was built...
I've always had a thing for estate cars and in particular Japanese cars. (The joys of growing up with Gran turismo). There are loads of cars I'd love but this one has always been the one I want the most (that I could use daily). The Mitsubishi Legnum VR4.
If we're talking supercars that I'll...
Having a clearout and sacrificing some of my builds to try and raise enough money to get my beloved War Horse (my Boardman) fixed as need it for my fundraising.
First up is this Shimano 3x9 crankset and bottom bracket, altus rear derailleur and altus front derailleur. I do have the altus...
Shorter (17 miles) training ride today. Conquered one of my most feared hills but didn't beat the rain 😂. Starting to feel a bit more confident about my 24hr solo in July.
That makes sense. Looking at the serial number I guessed '95. Wasn't sure when altus was introduced. It's got a few scars but looks better than I did at 30 🤣. It's a lovely bike to ride and for £10 I'm over the moon. Going to keep it for my local trails as been after an old rigid mountain bike...
I'm afraid it's another one of those posts. Does anyone know anything about them? It's a Racer country (Racer conception) Lastours (which is a commune in Southern France).
I picked this up from the recycling centre for a tenner just because I liked it. It's fairly lightweight so not the normal...
Anyone want to (permanently) lend me the money? Would make a very happy Martin.
Alas I joke. Another Marin is on the cards for this year but nothing of this splendour :( One can but dream.
