F5 is definitely a 1” head tube. F6 was the first with 1 1/8” head tube. You can get a reducer shim for the forks to make them take a 1” steerer.

A lot of Cnc cranks creak like hell on Royce bb axles. I have tried 4 different sets, all creak. Just been reading an old Mtb Pro mag bike test, creaking Middleburn cranks on Royce bb noted on both bikes!

Scapin are an Italian company, so it could be an Italian bottom bracket. If the shell of the frame is 70mm, it’s Italian threaded. If both cups are right hand threaded, it’s Italian.

1989 had a u-brake on the rear and a 1” head tube and 531 tubing. 1990 had cantilevers front and rear, a 1 1/8” head tube and 531 Magnum tubing.
