My marzocchi bomber z3 fork has slowly been leaking oil ever since I got it re-tuned at my local bike shop. I figure that it is probably time to replace the fork all together rather than stress over sending it to marzocchi or hunting down old seals. So my question is what type of fork would you...
Well, here's what i want exactly
Lots of travel 5 or 6+
Ability to DH/and hit large jumps and drops
Comfortable to ride over flat distance 2-5 miles
Medium or Small Frame? I'm 5'7 145
so far all the bikes i have seen in the classifieds are either all-mountain with limited travel or DH rigs...
That's pretty goofy, i can't believe i missed that. Do you guys think i should keep riding my GT LTS 3000 even though it doesn't have that much travel and save my money or should i try and find a dh rig (06 Specialized Bighit for around 5-600?
Thanks for all of the responses, i'm looking for something with lots of travel to upgrade from my GT LTS 3000 DS, i would be very happy with all of the bikes under the classifieds but the shipping would probably cost more than the bike as i am located across the pond in Arizona, US. Thanks...
New Old Stock 2000 ST3 ESR 2500
Bomber tripple tree downhill fork
26 x 2.3 large Slime brand tubeless armour plated
RST 58 Rear shock
Bike is in magnificent condition
If i can get for under 500 would this be a wise deal?
Thanks for the extensive and informational response! I will look into some new brake pads and hope for the best, I agree with your advice and have decided instead of putting lots of $$$ into my retro ride I will keep it as is for the most part and save my cash for a freeride/DH rig off pink bike...
Yeah sorry about that, pics should be down below
Next pictures bring me to a new question
Is there anyway to increase my stopping power? I've got stock brake pads on there and i came flying around a corner today and couldn't slow down in time to take the turn, had to dump the bike and...
Thanks again, the little padded strip that was originally on there is really worn so i will definitely look into that old tire trick. How much travel does my bomber z3 have? 80mm or 100mm?
Thanks for the responses, i will start looking for a fork with more travel although i'm on a serious budget. I lowered my seat to where it's just about level with the hadlebars so hopefully my bike won't hurt as bad for todays training session. Barneyballbags you have a seriously sick set up, so...
First and foremost I have a gt lts 3000 ds. I have been DH/all-mountain riding. I'm not sure how far I can push this bike, the front fork is a marzocchi z3 bomber and the rockshox deluxe is still in the rear. The suspension is very cushy and comfortable. I have been riding single track trails in...
Here's my 1998 GT LTS 3000 DS
As for aftermarket parts it has a Marzocchi Bomber Z3 Fork and unknown handlebars,
Bike rides like a champ though and if anyone is selling a rear shock for this bike please PM me
How much do you guys think it's worth? I payed $200 US dollars and it...
