Yes. And no - while riding my very light and quite distinctive single speed conversion Ti Dynatech Ti Ugli fork combination - bright blue with white wall tyres and white Flite Ti saddle 8)
Riding local trail round Ladybower mid week last year and a couple of chaps stopped for a natter, they...
My retro commuter will be in need of a new transmission soon, just ordered a pile of £4 KMC Z8 chains from Wiggle. Already got an 8 speed rear wheel / cassette and I have some shifters somewhere - but I am hoping the current STX SE rear mech (*not* STX RC which would probably work fine) can cope...
mattr you are right about the aggressive pricing from CRC, through a bike charity I volunteer with I have access to buying at trade price - mostly CRC has historically been cheaper, sometimes a lot cheaper!
Given CRC stock of some brands seems to be disappearing (Selle SMP comes to my mind) and...
Re: Re:
I get your point about some car lights, bit I rarely have that problem, Maybe its the bike riders round here but loads of them run these super bright blunderbuss's - which make it really hard to judge their location / speed cos you cant even look in their direction
The inability to...
One of my bug bears is cyclists who think really bright lights are actually a safety device not a menace on the roads - mostly the problem is more to do with beam shape than brightness per se, I must get dazzled by other cyclists half a dozen times a day now and don't wish to join them
So I am...
I know this will have been asked before but I am still confused - possibly by my own LBS
Got a new 8 speed wheel and need to pop the 7 speed cassette off my old wheel on to it. Google confused me so I went to my local shop and they sold me a 1.85mm flat spacer and said that was right. I thought...
Has anyone seen stuff go out of stock and come back in?
I am assuming they are culling their inventory *and* dumping product lines, but maybe the are just sorting out their supply chain and I am only noticing the stuff I am wanting to buy currently
Since Wiggle bought out CRC I have to say I haven't really noticed anything bad happen - until recently. Quite a few items I have been after seem to go out of stock and stay out of stock. eg SMP saddles, Schwalbe tyres as well as service items / tools like grease guns
As a business person...
thanks folks, seems to have built up fine with new cones and balls - though one side of the hub only wanted 8 balls and the other 9 . . .
Its a single speed hub, the 8 ball side was the fixed sprocket side and 9 ball was freewheel side - assume that's right?
I also assume the cones we not...
I have picked up an old steel frame that is mostly in great condition - but - there's always a but, the metal band welded to the top of the seat tube has started to come away. It measures 28.6 OD so my plan is to "remove it" and use a standard external clamp
I am a little unsure how to go about...
We meet twice a week. On Mondays it tends to be really busy as we have service users collecting bikes, returning for repairs etc. Thursday is just fixing bikes and has a more relaxed vibe, we sometimes even have the radio on :)
Re: Re:
If only they were just mucky - while we do very occasionally get a nice, loved bike donated many are well used / abused, have been left outside, never maintained, sometimes vandalised etc. Often way beyond some of the "usual" methods of refurbishing - while my recently fitted NOS STX...
