i do love an MB - managed to grab one myself a few years back having lived in dronfield for 13 years. they ride lovely and the shop confirmed for me that i was a 1982 model built for a local racer.
your colour scheme is lovely - something very different. i like it and good to see you using it...
I hadn't, research says it's German tubing used by a few of the Italian manufacturers. Got a reasonably decent reputation by all accounts. The groupset is from 2000 so it must have been upgraded at some point. There's a sticker on the frame referencing the Atlanta Olympics in 1996
Just been and had a good look at that as I hadn't noticed it, it does appear to be deliberate and is a drilled hole rather a rotted tube. Must be for drainage but it's rather large in size.
Will strip the BB and have a good look in there.
I've just given it a good wash and spent 10 mins on the forks today and it's come up well already. When I've got time I'll give it a deep clean and service.
Just picked this up for a steal.
Lovely condition and rides very nice.
Swapped out the wheels and fitted a bigger cassette. It's running sora 3300 but no idea if it's original. Serial number under BB is 2r57a I think.
Any info out there to help me identify it?
they look decent for the money - do they work ok with road shifters? i fitted the trp hyd-rd on my wifes' gravel bike and they work well but obviously much more expensive.
Anodised blue 400ex groupset.
