Hello! Nice bike! The cables are new. There are several colour combinations on these bikes. It is actually difficult to determine the exact model. White, red and blue cables have been used. Otherwise, it is in original shape. The seat post, too. The chrome is gone, though. It will soon be...

Thanks! In those areas where the paint is gone there is not bare metal, but bare rust. I oiled it to prevent it from rust more. But the steel is good I think. High quality in the Scandinavian bikes from this time. Yes, it is Swedish. Tubing is Reynolds and lugs are Nervex. Campagnolo...

    Monark racer from 60/70s.

I've been working on the bike from time to time and now it's nearly ready. I'm waiting for the cotter pins. Then I'll finish it. I didn't want to paint it or do anything to "fake" it's story. Every scratch is in my opinion part of the true story behind the "Blue Flash", as it's model name is. It...

    Monark racer from 60/70s.

Any tips on an effective "to-do-list" to breathe life into this bike again? It´s been standing still in the cellar since just before 1990. I mean like what do to to get it up and running, especially tech-wise, in a time-effective way and without destroying anythink or fixing things that are...

Thanks! Will definately inspect the chain and sprockets. I think I found new tyres now: Vittoria Rally 28x25. Will try to fit them myself.

Great tip and good news! I really the bike and believe it is of good quality but in the need for some TLC. How could I lube up the freewheel/rear hub or what it is called? Where could I find tyres for this bike? Looks like the rims are 25" x 2 1/16" (22mm).

Thank you for replying! Questions: 1. How do I lubricate the freewheel? 2. What is a brillo pad and what is elbow grease (I am Norwegian)? And what kind of wax? Car polish? Yes, rust both on chrome and frame. :)

    Monark racer from 60/70s.

Got this bike today from a friend. He rode it a lot back in the day. It belonged to the Norwegian champion sometime during the early 70´s or late 60´s. However, I intend to fix it up and use it for training and fun. Tips on restoring it and where to get parts would be much appreciated. At least...
