    1983 La Redoute-Motobecane C7 ( named Prolight in US)

The bike really came out great, wish I could take it for a ride. :) Nice to see the build done as period correct.

What a beauty! What does it ride like?

Wow, that KAS and France Loire are both beauties, too. I can see in your signature you have quite a few beautiful race bikes. Hope you get out to ride them all. :) I built up my Koga (1998 steel frame) with mostly modern carbon and alloy components except for using downtube shifters, which is...

Glad you got the sleeve nut out. The bike is looking better and better. I really like the green tape too, much better look than white, imo. And the whole bike looks really clean with the bare aluminum rear triangle, such a nice change from the neon colors you so often see. I'm curious what it...

Re: Project is looking great. What do you estimate the bike might weigh once finished? I would think it'll be a pretty light racer..

so i started a bike shop. update 28/11/24

Re: Nice looking shop - best of luck to you. I worked in shops here in the US in the 1980's/early 90's then did something else. After a nearly 30 year hiatus I'm now working as a shop tech again for a large sports chain. I've found it to be surprisingly enjoyable. :)

    Today's Ride

I knocked out a nice 20 (32km) miles in a 1 hour ride today, it was chilly but nice - even saw some sun. :)

Mystery old bike can anyone identify...

Re: Great looking frame, whatever it is. And pretty old I would think, with the lack of rear derailleur hanger. Interesting rear dropouts, too.

1st Carbon bike - Look KG231 Credit Agricole.

How does the LOOK ride? Fast I'm guessing. :) Yeah I had wanted a 5900 frame for a while, and when I found one I thought it would likely be lifetime bike for me. But it was absolutely unforgiving even on 20 mile rides. I ride fast daily 20, 40, or 60 milers and the bike quickly became very...

1st Carbon bike - Look KG231 Credit Agricole.

Beautiful build, there. I had an '03 Trek 5900 for a few months last year. I bought a used frame and built it up. It was super light but absolutely beat you to death on long rides. I ended up selling the frame. I think you're better off with the LOOk you built up than finding a 5500. :)

My 1972 Novy, a Belgian bike picked up in Holland.

That's a beauty, a classic road racing machine.

Nice frame, average parts, make an offer......

What a mess of a build, and a QR seat post skewer? Ugh!

    Resprayed 70s Gitane

Looks great to me too, should make a really nice/quick ride once built up.
