Re: Perhaps the Race Lite sticker on the downtube is the indicator of the special edition the previous owner had mentioned. If you drop "1992 kona cinder cone" into google and search images you'll only see a few with the race lite sticker like yours. And they lead back to right here. :)...

Re: Nice, with Black LX arms and silver rings it'll be the opposite of what it came with. I like those brakes, much better than the originals. Having a velocity stem rather than a sport is only a plus. What are you going to do with the grease fitting on the bottom bracket?

A four year thread and I haven't seen the bike I own. Although there is an explosif of the same color. The color is Dupont Imron 43073 "Signal Green" (99% sure). It's difficult to get the pictures to look right, because the light reflects off the paint so much. 1992 Kona Fire...

Nice find. The wonders of buying and selling when you can glimpse a bad pic instead of a poor description in the newspaper. So was the 1991 fire mountain in yellow a US/Canada color and blue for UK and Europe? I remember the yellow, but not the blue.
